A basic but powerfull optical illusion.

An afterimage is a visual impression that remains in the retina after the initial stimulus is removed. After images cause you to see motion and color where there is none. The afterimage always has colors that are complementary to those of the original image.

Look steadily at the cross in the center of the picture to see an afterimage.

You will know when the effect is there...
